One of Christian music’s leading record labels, StowTown Records, has announced the addition of popular quartet, the Down East Boys, to their artist roster. The debut release from the group under the StowTown label is expected to be released this fall, just in time for gospel music’s premier event, the National Quartet Convention, which is set to take place in September.
Since their inception in 1985, the Down East Boys have been making great music and sharing that music with audiences across the country. A mainstay in the gospel music world, their name is synonymous with classic quartet harmony and songs that have stood the test of time. Under the leadership of longtime lead vocalist and manager, Ricky Carden, their music has consistently topped radio charts, as they have enjoyed such popular hits as "Beautiful Valley," "Beat Up Bible," "Testimony Time," "What Love," "Something To Shout About" and their most recent Top 20 hit, "Mercy River."
After much prayer, reflection, and even a few surprises along the way, the Kingsmen are excited to welcome Harold Reed back to the quartet as tenor vocalist. Harold, who previously spent several years in the group during the 2000s and made popular such favorites as “I Knew It Was Him” and the #1 classic, “God Saw a Cross”, made his return official at Singing in the Smokies on July 5.
“We were thrilled when Harold simply agreed to fill in with us while we searched for a tenor,” says Kingsmen baritone and stage manager Alan Kendall. “We immediately felt a great chemistry and camaraderie with Harold, and he eased back into his former post so naturally. Little did we know that Harold was wrestling with the calling to return to singing full-time. After several weeks of prayer and discussion between Harold and his wife Katie, they both came to us at the Squire Parsons Memorial and made clear that they were on board and ready to go. Not only does Harold match the youth and energy of Cole Watson and Brady Jones with his more than 35 years of experience in gospel music, but he has brought with that experience a level of spiritual wisdom and discernment that has enriched our performances. We couldn’t be more happy to welcome him back.”
Harold shares the group’s enthusiasm. “When I left the road and quit singing several years ago, I would never have imagined that I would be back out here. When the door opened once again with the Kingsmen, I offered to fill in (something else I never thought I’d do). I was nervous and excited at the same time! The Lord finally made it overwhelmingly clear to me and Katie that this was the right time. It’s an honor and a privilege that after more than 30 years out here, I can come back and again sing with my all-time favorite group. I think the biggest thrill of all is being here for the upcoming 70th anniversary, especially with Ray, Brandon, Alan, Cole, and Brady. I’m thankful for this opportunity, and I look forward to seeing everybody out on the road again.”
The Kingsmen are quickly approaching their 70th anniversary for 2026 with numerous exciting projects in the works. They are in the final stages of preparing their commemorative 70th anniversary album, a special 70th anniversary tour, and a documentary produced and directed by Evan Bradford. Kingsmen alumnus Bryan Hutson and gospel music enthusiast Josh Griffin have also began a podcast dedicated to all things Kingsmen Quartet, entitled Behind the Crown, now available on all streaming outlets.
Hall of Famer, group owner, and 58-year Kingsmen veteran Ray Dean Reese reflects, “Even now and as I spend more time relaxing at home, I still sit in my office, work a little bit, and reflect on God’s many blessings all these years, I am so proud and excited about today’s group of Kingsmen. Brandon, Alan, Cole, Brady, and Harold…What a team to carry us forward!”
The Kingsmen extend our heartfelt appreciation to our friends Blake Buffin, Landon Farris, and Devin Smith for filling in during this time of transition. We also extend our appreciation to Jonny Baker of the Melodyaires Quartet for his selfless assistance and support.
Today, our hearts are heavy as we share that Brother Swaggart has finished his earthly race and entered into the presence of His Savior, Jesus Christ. Today was the day he has sung about for decades. He met his beloved Savior and entered the portals of glory. At the same time, we rejoice knowing that we will see him again one day.
For over seven decades, Brother Swaggart poured out his life preaching the gospel, singing songs of the faith, and pointing millions to the saving power of Jesus Christ and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. His voice echoed through nations, his music softened hearts, and his message never changed: Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
He was not just a preacher—he was a worshiper, a warrior, and a witness to the grace and mercy of God. He was a man whose faith was steadfast and always entered whatever door the Lord opened. And the Lord honored that faith.
Please continue to lift up Sister Frances, Donnie, Debbie, Gabriel, Jill, Jennifer, Clif, Matt, Joanna, Sam, Ryder, Abby, Lola, Harper, Navy, Harrison, Caroline and Mackenzie in your prayers.
The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General Medical Center for their incredible support and care given during this time. .
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

With the departure of Matt Fouch, Scott Fowler has found his new bass. Jon Epley has joined Legacy Five. Jon Epley states, "So excited for this opportunity to get back to singing! I have been fans and friends of this group and these guys for a long time, and I am very honored. I look forward to seeing you all out there!"
Jake, Faythe, and Josiah would like to introduce the newest member of the family. “Sophia Grace Whisnant”. She was born June 29th at 7:45 am. 19 inches long, and 7 pounds, 1 ounce.
Congratulations to the Whisnants and the Lores. This little girl already has her daddy wrapped around her finger.
We’ve known Scott for several years, and have always appreciated his singing ability, but more importantly, his love for God, his sincerity, and his friendship. He has served as Baritone with The Guardians Quartet for the last five years.
“These gentlemen have been my heroes for many years," says Mullins. “I would go to the National Quartet Convention and see Greater Vision on stage performing with excellence and would dream of being able to stand side by side on stage with them. Now, God has allowed that dream to become reality. I am truly humbled to be a part of Greater Vision.
Nashville, TN (June 16, 2025) - After 13 years of faithful service, Matt Fouch has announced his departure as bass vocalist for Legacy Five.
“Thirteen years ago, Scott offered me the bass singing job with Legacy Five and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and loved my time with the group,” Matt shared. “We have had the opportunity to share music all around the world... These are life core memories that I will forever cherish.”
Matt’s decision came after a season of reflection:
“COVID concert cancellations gave me an opportunity to be home with my family every night… and I absolutely loved it! Once concerts started picking back up again, I had the desire to transition out of being on the road.”
He honored a commitment to remain through Legacy Five’s 25th anniversary in 2024, and now, in 2025, he’s following the peace God has given him:
“When I shared this news with my family, Kingston (my 9-year-old son) said, ‘Does this mean you can spend more time with us?’ That’s when you know you are doing the right thing!”
Though he's stepping away from full-time travel, Matt isn’t retiring:
“I still intend to record and release some solo music and possibly fill in from time to time. And you never know what the future holds as seasons of life change.”
Legacy Five founder Scott Fowler offered this heartfelt tribute:
“To everything there is a season. King Solomon was right... Matt has sensed this season changing for quite a while now. He's been very up-front with me about this.
Matt, you have been a joy to work, sing and travel with. You always had a great attitude and great work ethic and never caused a single problem… I fully support and encourage you to do what’s in your family’s best interest. Thank you for 13 faithful years to L5. We wish you all the best that God has for you!”
Please join us in celebrating Matt’s years of ministry and praying for him and his family as they step into this next chapter.

Nashville, TN (April 15th, 2025) – Few groups on the road today share the long-standing history that The Hoppers represent within Southern Gospel music. While the family has faced a plethora of obstacles throughout the years, including considerable health concerns, the group has continuously forged ahead with the mission of sharing the Gospel through song. As the award-winning family group quickly approaches their seventh decade of ministry, The Hoppers have announced a new season as they move into the future.
Group founder and patriarch, Claude Hopper, as well as Connie, a fan-favorite alto and the family matriarch, plan to take a step back: enjoying their home in beautiful North Carolina and some very well-deserved relaxation. Their youngest son, Mike Hopper, will come off the road to care for his parents. As a result, Dean and Kim Hopper, along with their daughter Karlye, and with Claude and Connie’s blessing, will move forward as the latest configuration of The Hoppers, continuing the family’s long legacy as one of the prominent families of Gospel Music.
Dean, Kim and Karlye would like to say thank you for the continuous support and love throughout the years, and request prayers as they enter into the next chapter of The Hoppers.

After 10 Christmas Seasons at The Browns Century Theater located on the corner of Central Ave. Downtown Le Mars. The Browns have outgrown the space. With a capacity of 150 people per show, and adding extra shows to accommodate demand, but still not being able to find seats for many people, we have been planning the next phase for a couple years.
For the past 5+ years we have been performing around 35-40 shows during November and December. With additional 60 shows throughout March-October!
The week of Thanksgiving, Dad (Keith) mentioned his idea about moving the Theater directly behind the current Theater to the building that replaced the Historic Opera House. The building is large enough to fit a 400 seat Theater. Double the space for the Gift Shoppe, Chocolate counters, concessions, and larger bathrooms.
Construction on the New Theater will begin March 1st with an opening date in October of 2025. We are excited for triple the space and no stairs.
January 2025 will be The Browns 25th Anniversary of singing together as a family and this is one of the exciting ways we will continue to share our love of music with others!
